Coltivare il proprio sapone. La pianta di Saponaria viene usata per farsi il sapone e lo shampoo in casa in maniera 100% vegetale, perciò è ideale anche per chi è vegan e a costo zero. Questo sapone vegetale è ideale per lavare gli animali di casa (fate attenzione ai occhi), ma anche i piatti ed i panni.

La saponaria è una erbacea perenne coltivata un tempo per le sue caratteristiche proprietà detergenti, apprezzata oggi per la sua fioritura.

 Un decotto di saponaria, dopo essere stato filtrato, può venir usato come shampoo rinforzante per capelli fragili e sfibrati o per detergere le pelli delicate: non ci si deve preoccupare se non produrrà molta schiuma, non è dalla quantità di schiuma che si deve giudicare la bontà di un detergente.
Viene anche usata come decotto contro l'acne.

 Sapone liquido

• 2 tazze di foglie e stemmi tagliati (1 tazza se seccati)
• 1 lt di acqua distillata

Aggiungere le foglie all'acqua bollente e lasciare ben chiuso in una pentola per 15 minuti, togliere dal fuoco e far raffreddare, passate il liquido. Volendo si possono aggiungere delle gocce di olio essenziale per la profumazione.
Tenere in frigo per 1 settimana. Questo sapone può essere usato sul corpo ma anche in lavatrice.

Soapwort Shampoo
Lo shampo viene fatto come il sapone ma con meno acqua usando solo 1 tazza di acqua distillata. Procedete come sopra.

• 2 Cups of chopped soapwort leaves and stems (1 cup dried)
• 1 litter distilled water

Add soapwort leaves to boiling water and cover the pan. 
Simmering for fifteen minutes. Remove from the heat and cool. Strain through cheesecloth. Include essential oils
You can keep the liquid up to a week in the refrigerator.

Soapwort Shampoo
Soapwort shampoo is a little less concentrated than the all-purpose cleaner. 3 Tablespoons fresh soapwort (1 tablespoon dried)- 1 Cup water (distilled)
Follow boiling directions as above.
