Da oggi, i cosmetici non saranno più testati sugli animali, infatti entra in vigore il divieto totale (attualmente sono già vietati i test dei cosmetici finiti), previsto dal nuovo regolamento europeo sui cosmetici (n. 1223/2009).
Inoltre, a partire dall'11 luglio, le etichette dei prodotti di bellezza dovranno recare indicazioni chiare sulla scadenza: la data dovrà essere segnalata e dovrà essere segnalata l’eventuale presenza di nanomateriali, cioè di elementi di dimensioni inferiori ai 100 micron, sulla cui sicurezza esistono ancora molti dubbi: tali ingredienti, usati soprattutto nei prodotti solari, dovranno essere evidenziati con la dicitura 'NANO'.

Gli imprenditori italiani di Unipro ed europei di Cosmetics Europe sono a favore del bando totale dei test sugli animali e ritengono che rechi beneficio a tutti, consumatori, animalisti e stesse industrie. L’Europa è già da tempo animal free, ma da oggi non potranno essere più venduti nei paesi europei neanche quei prodotti i cui ingredienti sono stati testati sugli animali in Paesi extra europei.

Speriamo che sia solo l'inizio di un cambiamento radicale dell'industria.

Europe has alredy been animal free, but from today no product will be sold within Europe if these have been tested on animals in non European countries.

Let's hope that this is only the beginning.
