Oggi vi voglio parlare di un tipo di agricoltura che potete fare a casa, nei vostri giardini ma anche su terreni più vasti.

L'orto sinergico è stato portato avanti da Emilia Hazelip basandosi sulle ricerche di Masanobu Fukuoka. E' un modo al 100% naturale di coltivare. Il lavoro più impegnativo si fa all'inizio poi di anno in anno il lavoro fisico è sempre minore!

La metodologia ha 4 principi fondamentali, NON si vanga, NON si fertilizza, NON si usano pesticidi, si costruisce sempre una sinergia tra piante.

Inizialmente potrebbe servire, ma per l'ultima volta, di dover vangare per creare dei "bancali" ma poi non servirà più.
Il fertilizzante sarà d'ora in poi al 100% naturale, cioè la naturale decomposizione dei materiali nel terreno saranno il fertilizzante necessario per la crescita delle piante. Basterà coprire i bancali con del materiale secco come ad esempio l'erba o meglio ancora la paglia. Aiuta a tenere le radici umide (così da risparmiare l'acqua) e sotto lo strato la terra è molto fertile visto che si decompone in maniera naturale tutto il materiale organico, con l'aiuto dei lombrichi. Ovviamente non serviranno pesticidi.
L'idea è di combinare le piante così da aiutarle a vicenda facendo delle consociazioni utili per  la loro crescita ed eliminerà il problema di usare pesticidi perché si auto aiuteranno.

Synergistic Agriculture is a cultivation method developed by Emilia Hazelip. Based on Masanobu Fukuoka’s intuitions, it is the most natural way of cultivation practicable.
This method modifies a litte the 4 fundamental principles of Natural Fukuoka's Cultivation:
DO NOT PLOUGH ( or just do it once, at the beginning), DO NOT USE PEST,
DO NOT FERTILIZE, BUILD OR RE-BUILD SYNERGY BETWEEN PLANTS

Emilia Hazelip had to face with the reality of western "scientifically cultivated" fields: they are often dead, because of their loss of vital texture due to chemicals.
For this reason, according to its actual condition, it is often necessary to plough the field for the very last time.
You'll have to do it just once, so the field can start it’s gradual comeback to naturalness.
According to the field effective condition, right after the last ploughing, it could be necessary to put natural fertilizer to fasten path towards fertility. Once you've built the beds (which are one of the Synergistic Agriculture distinctives) you'll have to cover them with natural mulch, food waste and worms. This will accelerate the autofertility process of the field.

This is surely the most distinctive aspect of Synergistic Agriculture: the idea is to seek and create a plants dialogue, so they can help each other (protecting from pests or creating an ideal microhabitat).
